The Prayer

“If I really wanted to pray I’ll tell you what I'd do. I'd go out into a great big field all alone, Or in the deep, deep woods, And I'd look up into the sky—Up—up—up—into that lovely blue sky, That looks as if there was no end to its blueness.
And then I'd just feel a prayer.”
~~Anne Shirley,
Anne of Green Gables

The Prayer

The narrow door opens wide
Just room enough for one
To step inside the damp stone walls
And say a prayer to God

The air falls quiet all is still
No bird is heard, no sound at all
Neath the hushed and silent trees
This sacred place begs bended knee

Words are offered to the sky
With gratitude and humble heart
Spoken softly though they are
They carry up to heaven

Stirring from the quiet place
Stepping out to all I see
The feeling of the prayer goes on
In stones and earth and tree

She Walks in Forests

I love Red Riding Hood in all of her forms.... she walks, too. She walks in forests.

Wild Moor Everywhere

Wish I could just step right into this scene tonight...
Photo by The Bronte Parsonage Museum

"A heaven so clear,
an earth so calm,
So sweet, so soft,
so hushed an air;
And, deepening still
the dreamlike charm,
Wild moor everywhere."

Roads

Roads (Nowhere and Back)

My roads have been wide and unmarked
My roads have led to nowhere and back
My roads have been dead ends
My roads have been dark and black~
And I've wandered them like a blind man
Who makes his way in the dark~

I gravitate toward them in my seeking~
The same pointless and tricky paths
Walking over my old, worn footprints
Already tread on the path~
I walk their outline again and again
And never seem to weary retracing them~
I stare blankly at the footprints
And knowingly, stubbornly walk them again and again
And they still lead me nowhere and back~

Coming back from nowhere for the hundredth time
I know the way, but it is a struggle to get there
I am easily distracted
I am easily persuaded
I am easily drawn away to other roads~
I awkwardly attempt the steps
That will get me back to You~
I must keep trying
Fighting my stubbornness
Fighting my nature
Fighting my blindness~

I Fly

Artist - Roz

In these moments,
I am a beautiful bird
Made for nothing more
Than ascending to heights
Where currents await me.

Joy.

I soar.
I smile.
I shout.

I  close my eyes.
I hold tight.
I don't let go.

I am a bird.
I have wings.
I fly.

While I was fetching pins, I came across this stunning yet simple window treatment.

When my cottage get away becomes reality, this will definitely be inspiration.

One

Two favorite pictures come together, symbolically. One an unmistakable sign of spring, ...nature joyful, nature youthful, nature at her finest....

The other... the girl who finds joy in the wind...

When they sit side by side...

...You can see abundantly clear - they are one thing.

The girl is the flower on the branch,
Youthful and free,
Blooming where she's planted,
A blossom of joy - a splash of color,
She moves gently in the wind every day.

The flower is the girl in the wind,
Dancing free as a bird,
She roams her fields carefree and wild.
Sharing who she is at the heart
Unafraid to bloom in her time.

Both are ~
Joyful.
Bright.
Whimsical.
Wild.
Warm.
Beauty.
Nature.
One.
