Movie About Scottish Poet Robert Burns

Crossing my fingers and hoping that this film about Scottish poet and writer, Robert Burns, will be made one day. It looks to be in pre-production - The script is being rewritten and funds/backing being sought. Scottish actor Gerard Butler would most likely play Burns. Robert Burns is known as the "Scottish Bard." In other words, the Scottish Shakespeare.

  1. I think it would be a great pairing, should they choose to cast Gerard Butler. My husband and I joke that he brings a Scottish accent wherever he goes (Sparta, Paris, etc.), so he would at least look the part. I'm excited, too, for the upcoming Masterpiece Theatre movies. Not much else to do on cold winter Maine nights. :)

  2. I agree he would be great as Burns. Masterpiece Classic gets me through the winter, along with American Idol! :)

  3. I just watched the video you posted - I can't go wrong listening to Gerard speak. I love his accent! I also love biopics and am eager to see this one happen since I know little of Robbie Burns!

  4. Gerard is not hard to look at, or listen to! I am also a sucker for an accent :)
